The count of doses of Covid vaccine administered in the United States increased by 1.25 million on Monday, a record daily gain amid what would otherwise be slow in the distribution of vaccines.
Bloomberg is counting vaccine doses administered in the United States and around the world, collecting data from state vaccine reports and from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Since the CDC and some states do not report over the weekend, Monday’s count includes updates from previous days.

Since the United States began administering vaccines on December 14, 9.27 million doses have been administered and at least 379,862 people have received their second injection. Early vaccination efforts have focused on health workers, but complaints about the slow pace have caused some governors who run the programs to expand them to more groups.
