Zucker said the Department of Health was informed of reports about the Parcare Community Health Network in Orange County.
Reports say the chain fraudulently obtained doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and transferred them to other units across the state, in violation of state guidelines.
Also worrying, vaccines were given to members of the public, not frontline health professionals or residents and nursing home staff, as mandated by the state.
“We take this very seriously and the DOH will be assisting the State Police in a criminal investigation into this matter. Anyone who has consciously participated in this scheme will be held responsible to the fullest extent of the law,” said Zucker.
ABC contacted the ParCare Community Health Network for comment; his website describes his work as “a multi-specialty center that provides services such as primary care, internal medicine, dermatology, physiotherapy and pediatrics; helping our patients maintain optimal health and prevent potential illnesses”
In October, New York’s Test and Trace Corps announced an expanded partnership with ParCare to provide free testing and COVID-19 resources to the Orthodox Jewish community.
