SALT LAKE CITY – As of Monday, COVID-19 vaccinations are available for Utahns over the age of 16 with certain qualified health conditions.
“I think the opportunity to be vaccinated and to have this protection against something we know is very effective, I think it is potentially life-changing,” Salt Lake County Health Department spokesman Nicholas Rupp.

In the past few days, the Salt Lake County Health Department has gradually narrowed the age ranges for which vaccine appointments were made available. Monday is the first day that people aged 16 and over with one or more qualifying conditions can make their appointments in Salt Lake County.
“It’s just incredible that it’s happening and the moment when it happens is so perfect for me and what I want to do with my life. So, I think things will come back as close to normal as possible after I get my second dose, “said Ally McCune, a 20-year-old who now qualifies for the vaccine because she has cystic fibrosis.
The phased implementation of SLCoHD vaccine appointments has helped them to ensure a smooth scheduling process.

Utahns from other counties should contact the participating local health departments or pharmacies to schedule vaccines as soon as they are eligible.
In Utah, COVID-19 vaccines are also available to healthcare professionals, long-term care facility workers, first responders, K-12 teachers and staff members and anyone aged 65 and over.
