FARGO – The Essentia and Sanford health systems are notifying patients in the Fargo-Moorhead area that information about the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine will be released soon, perhaps in a few weeks.
Essentia Health is encouraging patients to sign up for MyChart online notification service, which will be Essentia’s primary vaccine notification method.
The health care provider said on Friday, January 8, that it expects to receive a vaccine distribution and begin public vaccination for North Dakota residents aged 75 and over the week of January 18. Essentia emphasized that this schedule is subject to change.
According to the Sanford Health website, vaccine notifications will be made through that provider’s MyChart option – My Sanford Chart.
“Sanford Health will notify you when we have a vaccine available to you. If you are currently a Sanford patient, you will receive a My Sanford Chart message, a letter and a call or text message when we are ready to book your vaccine appointment. , “says the Sanford Health website.
The vaccine schedule is already being discussed on the My Sanford Chart, with the message highlighting that more information will be announced in the coming weeks.
Sanford Health said that after receiving notification that vaccines are available, people can schedule an appointment through the My Sanford Chart, by calling the phone number in the notification or contacting their primary care provider.
Sanford Health expects it to start vaccinating the general public very soon, perhaps in a week or two.
The healthcare provider said it will prioritize patients 75 and older with underlying health problems.
On Friday, Essentia Health said that as soon as someone receives a notification via MyChart, they can schedule a vaccination using the same online portal.
Information on how to sign up for Essentia Health’s MyChart can be found at www.EssentiaHealth.org.
In addition to providing vaccine notification through MyChart, Essentia Health will also send voice messages to patients’ preferred phones.
