Humboldt County Public Health and other approved local vaccinators administered 35,828 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as of yesterday, Tuesday, March 9. This information is reflected in today’s weekly update of the Humboldt County Data Panel.
The Dashboard now includes information about Humboldt County residents who received one or more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. This new metric shows the count and percentage of the local population that has at least some protection against the virus, which currently stands at 23,388 or 17.2%.
Other highlights include:
- 12,441 residents of Humboldt County are fully vaccinated, representing 9.15% of the total county population.
- Another 10,947 residents, or 8.05% of the total county population, were partially vaccinated.
- About 41% of county residents aged 75 and over are fully vaccinated.
Starting today, the “Current hospital information” section of the Data Panel will be removed due to the decline in hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care units related to COVID-19. Public health officials have called this another sign that the county may be going through the worst part of the pandemic, while noting that information about the hospital’s capacity can be added in the event of another increase in hospitalizations.

10 new cases reported today
Ten new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Humboldt County today. A previously reported case was removed after it was determined that the person lived in another jurisdiction. A total of 3,326 county residents tested positive for COVID-19.
