Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

Three residents of Humboldt County died of COVID-19, and 29 additional cases were reported today. The total number of county residents testing positive for the virus is now 2,754.

One of the people who died was 60 years old and two, 70 years old. On behalf of Public Health and the Emergency Operations Center, employees extend their condolences to friends, family and medical professionals who cared for these residents.

So far this week, more than 900 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in public health clinics with more than 420 first and second doses scheduled for today. In addition, the partners administered hundreds of vaccines this week and are expected to vaccinate an additional 400 residents at the clinics over the weekend.

Vaccinations for some face-to-face kindergartens up to 12ºEducators and support staff started yesterday, and additional vaccination clinics are scheduled for this group this weekend. Distance learning educators and support staff are expected to start receiving vaccination invitations in mid-February. Data is being collected for child care and early education providers who are due to start receiving invitations from vaccine clinics in mid-February.

Residents wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine can complete the vaccine interest form at humboldtgov.org/InterestForm to be notified when consultations are available for their level. Companies or organizations designated for priority distribution by the state are encouraged to call the Joint Information Center at 707-441-5000 to find out which form should be used.
