Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

Two residents of Humboldt County have died of COVID-19, and 132 additional cases have been reported since Friday. Two previously reported cases have been removed, so the total number of county residents testing positive for the virus is now 2,624.

One of the people who died was 70 years old and the other 90 years old. The Humboldt County public health team extended its condolences to the friends and family of these people.

The California Department of Public Health announced today that the “Regional Home Stay Order” will be suspended for the entire state, and all counties will again be required to follow COVID-19 security measures, as described in the “Plan for an Economy” safer “The state’s” limited home stay request “has also ended.

The announcement had little impact locally because the “Regional Order Stay Home” was never applied to the Northern California region. Humboldt County remains at the “Purple” or generalized level. For more information on “Blueprint”, go to covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs.

This week, Public Health and other approved local vaccinators expect to receive a total of 1,875 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine – 600 first doses of Moderna, 300 doses of Moderna and 975 first doses of Pfizer.

Public Health continues to schedule mass vaccination clinics for Phase 1A health professionals. Two of the three clinics planned this week will focus on healthcare professionals who have not yet received their first dose, and the third will be for medical professionals who are ready for their second dose. Appointments for healthcare professionals are invite-only.

Suppliers approved to administer the vaccine will contact their patients over the age of 75 directly when the vaccine for that phase becomes available. Those who do not have a provider or whose doctor is not an approved vaccinator can complete the online form of interest for the newly launched vaccine to be notified when consultations are available for their priority group.
