Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

33 additional cases reported today

A total of 3,009 Humboldt County residents tested positive for COVID-19, after 33 new cases of the virus were reported today.

County will receive 3,550 doses of vaccine

The state of California has allocated a total of 3,550 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Humboldt County for the next week, 1,600 Moderna and 1,950 Pfizer. Public Health will use 500 of these at its second dose mass vaccination clinic, and the rest will be allocated to approved local vaccinators.

The vaccination priority has recently expanded to include additional groups, although consultations continue to be offered as vaccine delivery allows. Currently, the following groups qualify for vaccination:

  • Phase 1A healthcare professionals
  • Humboldt County residents aged 70 and over
  • Emergency services workers
  • Early childhood and elementary education, including educators and support staff
  • Licensed child care providers.

Healthcare professionals who are approved vaccinators are contacting their qualified patients directly. Public Health is reaching out to individuals who are not yet part of a qualified workforce using information submitted via the online Vaccine Interest Form. All county residents must complete the form to be notified when an interview is available for their level.
