Nine new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Humboldt County since the most recent report on Friday. A previous positive case for the antigen was reclassified as a positive case for PCR. This action was taken to avoid double counting a positive case. The total number of county residents testing positive for the virus now stands at 3,501.
Public Health: CDPH Travel Guidelines for Fully Vaccinated People
Humboldt County Public Health will follow guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), which updated its Travel Notice on Friday to address fully vaccinated people, while continuing to advise those who are not fully vaccinated to postpone vaccination. travel.
According to the CDPH, fully vaccinated travelers:
- are less likely to obtain and spread COVID-19 and can travel safely within the United States and California
- must follow the travel guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and are not required to be tested or quarantined before or after travel within the United States, unless they have symptoms related to COVID-19 disease.
CDPH abandoned its earlier recommendation not to travel more than 120 miles from home. Instead, it offered new recommendations for non-essential travel by unvaccinated Californians leaving the state, which include tests before and after the trip and quarantine upon returning home.
