Under this plan, people over 65 would be eligible for the vaccine in almost all local municipalities.
For people who are uncomfortable with the online application process, states have developed their own call centers. But when you call the Delaware hotline, you hear a busy tone.
Dr. Karyl Rattay, director of the Delaware Department of Public Health, said the demand was unable to meet supply.
The vaccination category for Group 1B includes 200,000 Delawareans and the state received only about 15,000 vaccines per week.

“We don’t have enough vaccine to serve this population now,” said Rattay.
On the first day of the launch of the website, 56,000 Delawareans requested a vaccine appointment in Group 1B.
Rattay suggested that friends, family and neighbors help older people who are not comfortable registering for the vaccine online.
In Pennsylvania, you are asked to make an appointment for a vaccine using a provider map on the state’s web page.
In Philadelphia, you can only express interest online; then, the Health Department will contact you.
“When people are eligible, we will contact you to find out how to schedule an appointment,” said Dr. Thomas Farley, Philadelphia Health Commissioner.
In Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, interest in getting the vaccine is growing, but even more doses are needed.
“As of this morning, 80,000 people have registered on our vaccine website,” said Dr. Valarie Arkoosh, chairman of the Montgomery County Commissioners Council.
Chester County now includes people in Category 1B to be vaccinated immediately. The county is updating the vaccine’s interest forms to reflect these changes.
In New Jersey, you cannot contact a state health department representative by phone until next week.
In Camden County, consultations are already scheduled until August. These consultations can be booked through the Cooper Hospital website, which can receive 6,000 visitors per second.
If you prefer to call for an appointment, the Camden County Health Department can be reached at (800) 999-9045.
“We will soon be vaccinating more than 1,000 (people a day),” said Margarita Camacho, public health nurse in Camden County.
Ruth Brodnick’s daughter signed her up on the Cooper Hospital page. After receiving her first dose, she is already scheduled for her second dose.
“Here I am, it’s a wonderful day. It’s a wonderful day for me and a wonderful day for our country,” said Brodnick.
