COVID-19 cases rise in Allegheny County, as the area prepares for a potential increase – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County continue to rise as the area prepares for a possible increase.

The Allegheny County Health Department is reporting nearly 500 new cases in the past 24 hours and 10 new deaths, including a person in their 30s.

The age of patients in new cases varies from one month to 96 years, with an average age of patients of 32 years. The county has seen the largest increase in cases in people aged 25 to 49 years.

In addition to the person in their 30s, the new reported deaths include one person in their 40s, one person in their 60s, one person in their 70s, three people in their 80s and three people in their 90s.

Since March 14, 2020, there have been 82,942 cases of COVID-19 in Allegheny County, 5,544 hospitalizations and 1,750 deaths.
