COVID-19 cases close to 200,000 in South Carolina | News

On Sunday, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced 1,281 new confirmed cases and 15 new probable cases of the new coronavirus COVID-19, seven additional confirmed deaths and two new probable deaths.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 163,143, probable cases to 7,535, confirmed deaths to 3,567 and 235 probable deaths.

Who should be tested?

Routine tests allow public health professionals to diagnose those who are asymptomatic and stop the continuous spread of the virus.

404 testing opportunities available across the state

Testing for COVID-19 is essential because it helps to identify people who are infected with the virus, whether or not they have symptoms.

There are currently 113 mobile test events scheduled through December 23 and 291 permanent COVID-19 test facilities across the state.
