Courage Production, LLC. Recalls Polish sausages ready to eat and fully cooked due to the incorrect brand and an undeclared allergen

WASHINGTON, January 2, 2021 – Courage Production, LLC., A Fairfield, Calif., Establishment is collecting approximately 1,645 pounds of ready-to-eat Polish sausages, fully cooked, due to the wrong brand and an undeclared allergen, the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service USA (FSIS) announced today. The products contain milk (mozzarella cheese), a known allergen that is not stated on the product label.

Sausage products labeled “POLISH SAUSAGE FROM TETON WATERS RANCH” may contain a sausage product with mozzarella cheese. The products were produced on October 9, 2020. The following products are subject to recall [View Labels (PDF Only)]:

  • 10 oz. Vacuum packed packs of four “TETON WATERS RANCH POLISH SAUSAGE” with batch code “202831,” “Use or freeze until: JAN / 8/21” date and establishment number “Est. 6024 ”on the side of the packaging label.

These items were shipped to retail locations in California, Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, Maine, New York and Oregon.
The problem was discovered after the company received notification of a customer complaint that the product labeled “Polish Sausage Teton Waters Ranch” contained red peppers, as well as mozzarella cheese, which were not included on the product label.

There were no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare professional.

FSIS fears that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased this product are advised not to consume them. These products must be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recall companies notify their customers of the recall and whether steps are taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers.
