Larry Gatlin tested positive for the coronavirus a few days after receiving his second dose of the Modern vaccine.
The 72-year-old country singer confirmed his diagnosis of COVID-19 with Fox News. Although Gatlin shared that he is “lucky” to be feeling well, the artist noted that he was just four days before making a full year without contracting the deadly virus when he got his first positive test result.
“What are the chances?” Gatlin reacted.
Gatlin received his second dose of Moderna on March 4. Four days later, on Monday, March 8, he learned that a quick test was positive and a second test – this time, a PCR – on Tuesday provided the same result.

Gatlin confirmed that he is experiencing some of the most common symptoms, such as “chest pressure, cough, body aches, drainage” and feeling “tired”.
“Guys, I feel like I have a cold, and not even a bad cold. I even hit some golf balls before dinner.”
The singer said he considers himself fortunate that, for the most part, he managed to continue his normal routine.
“Right now I feel like Lou Gehrig when I said, ‘Today I consider myself the luckiest man on earth,” he shared with us.
He then shared a message for those who are suffering from far greater complications caused by the virus, as well as for those who have lost loved ones.

“For you who have been terribly ill or have lost friends or loved ones, my sincere prayers go out to you. I have many character flaws and defects that you can pray for if you want. Instead, join me in prayer our friends and neighbors who have suffered and are still suffering, and for our country, “said Gatlin.

Last April, the West Texas native spoke to Fox News about the impacts of the current global health crisis on the music industry. The southern country and gospel singer said at the time that of the nearly 10 shows he and his brothers had scheduled, they had reissued dates for “all but one”.
“And yes, it will be difficult, but the problem is this: my wife and I are very blessed,” said Gatlin.

Gatlin also said earlier that, in spite of his fame, he is not “stinking rich as smelly” as many might think. In fact, the musician empathized with ordinary people in the sense that, by his estimation, his entire savings could be wiped out if he did not continue to operate while operating as a small company, many of which were wiped out by the global pandemic and income.
“Yes, I just sold a small publisher. We have a little savings, a little money in the bank, but if we don’t go back to work in the next few months – if we have to postpone four or five months, that would change my standard of living,” he explained. Gatlin at the time.

Then, at 71, Gatlin communicated how grateful he was for his health. He even shared his doctor “said that I am the healthiest 71-year-old man she has ever known … and I am. I am not sick”.
