Country star Jimmie Allen tweeted about ‘forgiveness’ days after Morgan Wallen’s N-word controversy

Jimmie Allen is open to forgiveness.

The country star is one of the most prominent black artists of the genre and went on Twitter on Saturday to discuss “forgiveness” after the Morgan Wallen controversy with N words.

Although Allen, 34, did not directly mention the scandal, his messages arrived just days after Wallen was abandoned by his agency and suspended by his record label after being caught in a video saying the word with N.

He was also condemned by the country music community, deemed ineligible for the Academy of Country Music Awards of the year and his music was pulled from a few stations.

“Forgiveness is more powerful than abandonment”, Allen said in your first message on Saturday. “Our job as humans is to help each other to be the best version of themselves.”

One fan pointed out that forgiveness must come after accountability, and Allen agreed.

“Responsibility is very important …… we must all be held accountable [for] our messes, ” he replied. “In examining my life, the wrong choices I made and the consequences I faced for them, I think of the people who didn’t give up on me and were willing to help me be better.”

He later added: “It is not about what is easier …. it is about what is right. To receive forgiveness, we must give forgiveness.”

Again, a fan commented, asking “where is the line drawn between forgiveness and empowerment?”

“When I was a child I used [sic.] Always ask my mother How many chances does a person have? Honestly, I can’t answer that. I think it’s a personal decision, ” He explained. “If you have personally spent time trying to help someone, then you can tell when your efforts are working or are going well.”

Inside one more tweetAllen echoed his earlier feelings about the importance of responsibility and praised people who “were willing to help me do it better” when he made mistakes.

After Wallen’s video leaked, the star apologized for his actions in a statement shared with Fox News.

“I am ashamed and sorry,” said the 27-year-old in his statement.

“I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slander that I would like to be able to remove. There is no excuse for using this type of language, ever. I sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better,” he continued.
