Free DLC is coming Cyberpunk 2077 in the “beginning” of 2021.
A few weeks ago, during an emergency meeting, CDPR President Adam Kiciński said it was “too early to judge” what would happen with the game’s DLC and multiplayer mode, but added that “it is ahead of us, so we don’t know yet. We are now focused on improving Cyberpunk and will discuss this early next year”.
Prior to the release of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt revealed that several expansions of DLC and a multiplayer mode were in development for the game. The developer has we talked earlier about multiplayer mode will not be released until 2021 at the very least, and the reveal of DLC expansions was delayed before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
Now, however, a new page has been added to the game’s website and, while providing very little about what may be in store for players, it confirms that “the free DLC starts arriving in Night City in early 2021” and asks players to “stay tuned for more information” (thanks, NME)
As we summarize at the time, all of this comes after the rather disastrous release of Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 and Xbox One. After assuring players that the game worked “surprisingly well“on cutting-edge platforms, the leadership of CD Projekt Red apologized for game launch full of bugs on both platforms, after the players found several bugs, glitches and visual downgrades. The CD Projekt Red leadership said the cost of fixing Cyberpunk 2077 on next-generation platforms was “irrelevant“compared to the success your reputation had at launch.
Consequently, Sony withdrew Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store “until further notice” and began offering refunds to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store and wanted their money back. Subsequently, Microsoft also added a notice to its Xbox store.
Last week, we informed that CD Projekt’s investors are dissatisfied with the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 were contemplating a lawsuit against the company and now, it looks like a New York law firm has gone ahead and filed a class action.
At the time of our report last week, two potential legal challenges have surfaced, one from Warsaw, Poland, and one from New York. Now, a separate NY company called Rosen Law has filed for damages on behalf of CD Projekt investors.
