Could he fall out of the top 10 in the NFL Draft?

With the completion of the Oregon Ducks Pro Day yesterday afternoon, all 2021 potential NFL Draft the first-round prospect healthy enough to participate in a professional day did this. Now, rumors are revolving around where the offensive attack Penei Sewell, one of the draft’s most highly rated candidates, ends in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Penei Sewell has high marks, but would he fall on recruitment day?

Apart from some exceptions, Penei Sewell is ranked as one of the top five players moving towards the Project. He is currently listed as the third potential customer on my large board here on the Pro Football Network. However, through no fault of its own, Sewell can leave the top 10.

With five quarterbacks probably huddled in the draft’s initial 10 selections, along with three wide receivers, potentially a cornerback and tight end Kyle Pitts, Sewell could be the strange man. As foolish as it is, in my opinion, it is a possibility that must be accepted.

Which teams are being considered for writing Sewell next month?

So, where could the best rated left tackle fall? After talking to people in Eugene across Oregon Professional Day, here’s what I gathered on Friday night.

The belief is that defenders are likely to go 1-2-3-4 in the draft. If Falcons do not answer a signal caller with the fourth choice, they must select Pitts. So, we started in fifth overall, Cincinnati Bengals.

5) Cincinnati Bengals

Leaving training today, most thought the Bengals would end up recruiting Sewell. They were happy with what they saw today, especially offensive lineman Frank Pollack, who trained Sewell during the position exercises.

Sewell also fills the gap in protecting the team’s franchise quarterback Joe Burrow, who is recovering from a severe knee injury. However, what if the Bengals pass Sewell and pass a pass receiver like Ja’Marr Chase?

6) Miami Dolphins

The Sewell Dolphins draft is doubtful. If they surprised everyone and caught Sewell, a source in the training told me that Miami would move Austin Jackson, his second choice in Round 1 last April, to tackle on the right and keep Sewell on the left.

7) Detroit Lions

If Sewell and Ja’Marr Chase are available, Chase would probably be the choice. If it’s just Sewell, the balance leans in your favor as Detroit’s choice.

8) Carolina Panthers

The Panthers want a quarterback, but if the options aren’t there, Sewell would be hard to pass up, if available.

9) Denver Broncos

This was the only hard “no” I received about Sewell. Garett Bolles finally lived up to expectations, and Ja’Wuan James returns after opting out of the 2021 season.

10) Dallas Cowboys

They told me bluntly: “The Cowboys are going to take Sewell if their cornerback is not available.”

11) New York giants

This was another tough “yes” in Sewell’s newsroom. There was no speculation about where he would line up as the The giants selected Andrew Thomas as the fourth choice last April.

12) Philadelphia Eagles

There was no definite yes or no at this location, but the feeling today is that the Eagles would consider Sewell due to Andre Dillard’s inability to stay healthy and live up to expectations.

13) Los Angeles chargers

I was told that the Chargers would be very happy if Sewell falls into his lap, no surprise at all.

Things can and will change in the next three and a half weeks, but it is interesting to see how much speculation there has been about where one of the project’s best prospects could land.

Austin Faoliu and Jordan Scott also attend Oregon Pro Day

Two of Sewell’s teammates, strikers Austin Faoliu and Jordan Scott, were unable to participate on Friday due to leg problems. Faoliu suffered a severe hamstring injury last week and will only be ready for a month. Therefore, he will not train before the draft.

Scott suffered a calf strain a few weeks ago and was not allowed to run. He plans to work out on April 20 in Naples, Florida, where he has been training.

Both players are classified as final choices on my board.
