Costco now offers consultations for the COVID vaccine at its pharmacies.

On Saturday, Costco announced that it was distributing coronavirus vaccines, mostly Modern, to locations around California. Currently, the only location in the Bay Area is Novato Costco. There are also participating locations in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Costco has not specified whether and when it will expand its vaccine offering locations, although its website says to “check for updates frequently”

As of Sunday morning, all appointments available at Novato have been booked.

Appointments must be made online. Costco asks people not to call pharmacies, as all scheduling is done through the online portal. You do not need to be a Costco member to use your pharmacies.

According to state guidelines, the only people now eligible for vaccines are healthcare professionals and daycare centers, adults 65 and older, and high-risk frontline workers. You can check your eligibility here.

“Costco is firmly committed to helping protect the health and safety of our members and employees, and to serving our communities. Our pharmacies will be administering COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they are available, in accordance with the CDC and state guidelines,” chain said in a statement.

Starting on Sunday, Costco will also distribute vaccines in New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Washington.
