Coronavirus in Oregon: State reports 411 new cases, 1 death

The Oregon Health Authority announced 411 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, along with a new death, bringing the state’s coronavirus death toll to 2,138.

The new numbers come as testing and vaccination efforts continue to be affected by the icy conditions of the weekend, as less than 7,600 inoculations have been given in the past few days – about half the normal amount – and just over 8,000 COVID test results have been reported.

Mass vaccination sites at the Oregon Convention Center and Portland International Airport closed over the weekend due to the weather, causing thousands of appointments to be rescheduled, but have since reopened. Oregon residents 75 and older became eligible to apply for a photo online on Monday morning.
