Coronavirus in Oregon: 1,421 new cases on Sunday, with the state’s death toll reaching 1,500

The Oregon Health Authority announced on Sunday 1,421 new positive or presumed cases of COVID-19, along with eight more deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,500 since the pandemic began.

A total of 117,745 people have tested positive in Oregon.

Health officials said 3,400 doses of the vaccine were recorded yesterday, including 1,700 new injections and 1,700 documented in previous days. To date, 48,725 Oregon residents have received their first dose of the 190,500 coronavirus vaccine that has been distributed, the health official said.

The pace of implantation of the vaccine in Oregon exceeds 40 other states, according to federal data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

New COVID deaths

The death of 1,493th COVID-19 in Oregon was an 82-year-old man in Coos County who tested positive on December 21 and died on December 31 at his home. He had underlying conditions.

The death of 1,494th COVID-19 in Oregon was a 76-year-old man in Marion County, whose test was positive on November 28 and died on January 1 at Salem Hospital. He had underlying conditions.

The death of 1,495th COVID-19 in Oregon was an 88-year-old woman in Marion County who tested positive on December 1 and died on January 1 at Salem Hospital.

The death of 1,496th COVID-19 in Oregon was a 77-year-old woman in Polk County who tested positive on November 13 and died on December 12 at her home.

The death of 1,497th COVID-19 in Oregon was an 81-year-old man in Polk County, whose test was positive on November 30 and died on December 15 at his residence.

COVID-19’s 1,498th death in Oregon was a 79-year-old woman in Polk County, who tested positive on December 15 and died on December 28 at West Valley Hospital.

The death of 1,499th COVID-19 in Oregon was a 77-year-old woman from Union County who tested positive on December 10 and died on January 1 at Grand Ronde Hospital.

COVID-19’s 1,500th death in Oregon was an 88-year-old woman in Washington County, who tested positive on December 18 and died on January 1; his place of death is being confirmed.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across Oregon is 483, 15 more than yesterday. There are 109 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care unit beds, no change since yesterday.
