Corn Flake Cocaine in Cincinnati: Customs agents in Cincinnati seized 44 pounds of cocaine-coated corn flakes instead of sugar

CBP officials in Cincinnati, Ohio, intercepted the package on February 13 containing about 44 pounds of cocaine-coated corn flakes, according to a press release.

While working on incoming freight from Peru, a CPD narcotics detecting dog named Bico signaled the grain shipment that was going to a private residence in Hong Kong. After a new inspection, the police found and tested a white powder on the cereal that tested positive for cocaine.

“The men and women in the port of Cincinnati are committed to stopping the flow of dangerous drugs and continue to use their training, intuition and strategic skills to prevent these types of illegitimate shipments from reaching the public,” said Richard Cincinnati Port Director Said Gillespie.

On a typical day of fiscal 2020, CBP said it seized 3,677 pounds of drugs at ports of entry across the country.

Drug dealers have long used creative methods to try to transport cocaine.

In July, for example, police in Italy discovered cocaine tucked into individually poured coffee beans after opening a package addressed to a fictional mafia boss in a Hollywood film.
