Marilyn MansonThe house was swarming with cops after a concerned friend called concerned about the singer’s well-being … saying they couldn’t get in touch with him for hours.
Police sources told TMZ that they received a call on Wednesday asking for a social security check from someone who said he had not heard of the singer and was concerned that something might have happened to him.
Several police officers were said to have gone home to the Hollywood Hills and made several attempts to get Manson to come and speak to them, to no avail. At one point, an LAPD helicopter circled overhead, illuminating the property with a spotlight.
Our sources say Manson never responded, but after some time, the cops were able to contact a representative of the singer who said it was okay, and that Manson just didn’t want to leave … the cops left soon after .
The visit takes place a few days after the actress Evan Rachel Wood made claims Manson abused her over the course of their relationship, saying Manson, “I started to prepare when I was a teenager and horribly abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated until submission. I am tired of living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail.”
The two dated in 2007 when Woods was 17 and Manson 38 … they got engaged in 2010, but separated soon after.
Manson’s record company severed ties with the singer shortly after the charges arose. Manson released a statement, saying, “My close relationships have always been entirely consensual with partners of like mind. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to distort the past, that is the truth.”
