“So, we are removing a kitchen, Phillip and I, and we found a message under the floor,” said Harrigan with a smile on a now viral TikTok, which has been seen 116,000 times since arriving on the platform last week.

“Jack and May lived here – three children and a dog. The kitchen was tidied up during April / May 2001,” he read about the note scrawled on the linoleum. “All the best !! Drink on us.” Included in the alcove was a small bottle of Glenkinchie whiskey.

“Doing an essential job! Great discovery”, Harrigan subtitles the clip. “I’m not sure I would drink [to be honest]. “

The TikTokers were touched by the token and agreed that the gesture was sweet.

“This is really so cute,” wrote one of them. “It restores my faith in the world. I probably don’t drink if I’m using power tools.”

“Any other child of the ’80s thinking,’ 2001 was not that far ‘ [?]'”another asked.

“When I saw the date, I thought, ‘Oh, not so long ago.’ Until the boy with me said he wasn’t even born at that time, “wrote Harrigan back.

Now, the memories will remain in the family. According to the outlet, Harrigan’s customer is Jack’s daughter, who bought her father’s home. The new owner plans to keep the whiskey and the piece of linoleum as a toast to his excavations.
