Connects exhaust to the Tesla Supercharger

A Ram truck stopped at a Tesla Supercharger and started to block it. The truck identifies itself as a Toyota Prius and has a charging cable in its exhaust, but the truck does not fool anyone.

Of course, this truck driver probably sees this as a funny act. The driver clearly wants to draw attention to that. Why else identify yourself as a Prius and “connect” a charging cable to the massive hood?

It is true that we laugh when we see this. However, blocking charging stations is a real thing and for electric car drivers it is very frustrating. A blocked charger can leave an electric car stuck if the charge is close to zero and there is nowhere else to connect.

In the early days of EVs, blocked chargers were probably the result of gasoline / diesel car drivers not knowing that these locations were specifically for electric cars. Currently, however, it is a little different. Signage has improved and most drivers are fully aware of the purpose of charging stations, so seeing a charger blocked today is rare and, if any are blocked, it was probably an intentional act by the driver of the gasoline / diesel vehicle.

In this case, however, identifying yourself as a Prius and connecting to a Supercharger shows another level of rudeness. The “normal” Prius doesn’t even connect and certainly can’t access the Tesla Supercharger network. So while the Ram truck driver probably thinks this is funny, the joke really is about him, as it shows a total lack of knowledge on many levels.

In addition to blocking the charging stations, there is another even ruder act, usually involving Teslas and a truck. We are referring to the countless acts of coal rolling in Teslas, which is carried out by illegally modified diesel trucks that generally specifically target Teslas in the wild.
