Congressman Malliotakis criticizes Cuomo after a tweet about Kavanaugh’s allegations resurfaces: He’s a ‘hypocrite’

Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, R-NY., Criticized Governor Andrew Cuomo as a ‘hypocrite’ on Thursday after a 2018 tweet from the governor about Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s allegations of sexual assault reappear.

In the 2018 tweet, Cuomo questioned why Kavanaugh would not do a lie detector test and asked President Trump to ask him after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford accused him of sexual assault before his confirmation to the Supreme Court.

In America’s Newsroom, Malliotakis, who had previously called for Cuomo’s resignation after bombing accusations about covering up deaths in nursing homes, said the governor needs to give “many answers” after a former government adviser Cuomo claimed that Cuomo sexually harassed her.

When asked whether or not Cuomo should do a lie detector test, Malliotakis said “he really should”.

“The governor, he is a hypocrite, are rules for you, but not for me,” said Mallitokais, recalling when Cuomo said there should be zero tolerance for such allegations in the state of New York when a deputy was charged in 2013.

“These new complaints just make it more difficult for the governor to continue.”

Lindsey Boylan, the former deputy secretary for economic development and special adviser to the governor, said Cuomo was constantly looking for her and getting officials to schedule meetings with her, where he made inappropriate comments.

Several ongoing investigations continue to investigate the impact of the Cuomo guideline last March for nursing homes to admit COVID-19 patients, resulting in thousands of deaths in assisted living facilities.
