Concept imagines multiple possibilities for the supposedly always active iPhone 13 screen [Video]

Over the weekend, we saw a new set of rumors that included the prediction of the long-awaited always-on screen coming to the iPhone 13. Now a new concept visualizes how Apple could differentiate its approach to the feature compared to what we’ve seen in recent years with Android.

Android smartphones have always had active screens for years, and 2021 may be the year that we will see Apple adopt the feature with the iPhone 13.

See how Max Weinbach via EverythingApplePro described the always-on implementation that Apple is currently working on:

The always-on display will have minimal customization. The current design basically looks like an attenuated lock screen. The clock and battery charge are always visible. Notifications appear to be displayed using a bar and icons. Upon receipt, the notification will appear normally, except that the screen will not light up completely. Instead, it will appear exactly as you’re used to it, except dimmed and only temporarily.

Today, YouTuber A Better Computer shared a few different concepts of how Apple could offer an always-on screen on the iPhone 13.

First, the concept includes a “lazy mock up”, “a slightly less lazy mock up”, “conservative concept” and, finally, a look at what an always-on screen could look like with widgets.

There is definitely a lot to consider here, in addition to just features like battery life, privacy and more. Based on Max’s report, Apple is working to keep the display feature always on to a minimum. However, Better Computer thinks that, as Apple is years behind Android with this, it will go for a bold implementation.
