Complete registration for COVID-19 vaccine on the Alamodome website in minutes

SANTO ANTÓNIO – The registration to receive the vaccine COVID-19 at the vaccination site of Alamodome, free of charge COVID-19, is full, according to the city hall website.

Registration was open to residents of Bexar County and others in one of the other 26 municipal districts at 9 am on Saturday. However, if you log on and try to register for the vaccine, you will be notified that all vacancies have already been filled.

The 9,000 places available for the next week were filled six minutes after registration opened, according to city officials. More than 11,000 people were on the city’s registration site when it opened at 9am.

The site was also difficult to access, probably due to the number of residents trying to register at the same time.

However, the city’s assistant manager, Dr. Colleen Bridger, said in a statement that the system did not crash when residents were trying to register.

Although the vacancies are filled now, she said more doses are coming.

“The consultations were full, the system didn’t crash. As the state of Texas sends us more vaccines, we will open more consultations. There will be enough for everyone, it just takes time for manufacturers to make / distribute the vaccine, ”said Dr. Bridger.

Only 1,500 eligible residents per day can receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and the vaccine clinic officially opens on Monday. But city officials assured those who failed to register that more doses of the vaccine will be on the way in the coming weeks.

Those who are eligible to receive the vaccines include healthcare professionals and residents in long-term care facilities, known as Phase 1A and Phase 1B, which includes residents over 65 years of age or residents 16 and over with a condition chronic medical.

These chronic medical conditions include: cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), heart disease, solid organ transplantation, severe obesity and obesity, pregnancy, sickle cell disease and type 2 diabetes.

We will contact the city authorities for more information on vaccine registration and will bring you more updates as they become available.
