Eddie Murphy’s return is not going to stop anytime soon.
The 59-year-old “Coming 2 America” actor appeared alongside Arsenio Hall in an episode of Kevin Hart’s SiriusXM radio show, “Comedy Gold Minds”, and confirmed that he plans to return to stand-up comedy as soon as the coronavirus pandemic is over.
“My plan was to do Dolemite, Saturday Night Live, Coming 2 America, and then get up. And then the pandemic hit and closed the entire city, ”explained Murphy. “So I was going – all the time last year, I would have worked on my acting trying to make my malaise right, and then the whole thing hung up.”
He added that “when the pandemic is over and it is safe for everyone to go out and do it,” said Murphy, “the plan is to do it.”

“I texted Arsenio last week. I was like, ‘You know, I don’t know if everyone knows we’re all these characters,'” said Murphy. “I did an interview with Oprah last week – I was talking about the movie and I was like, ‘Yes, and then I’m the old Jew.'”
“She was like, ‘What do you mean by the old Jew?’ I said, ‘That’s me at the barbershop,’ “Murphy continued.” She said, ‘Are you the old Jew ?!’ And she saw the original “Coming to America”. She saw that. You only [don’t] realize that, you know, I was that character. Many people don’t realize it. “
