A woman from Richland County, South Carolina, who said she received a drink “containing insects” at a Wendy’s restaurant, is suing the company for personal injury.
Linda Suber filed a lawsuit against Wendy’s and franchise owner Tar Heel Capital Corporation in Richland County earlier this month. She is asking for $ 74,000 in damages.
Suber received the alleged buggy drink at Wendy’s at 300 Bush River Road in Columbia, South Carolina on July 2, 2018, according to the lawsuit. She drank the drink and “caused severe and painful bodily injury”.
The lawsuit did not specify what type of insects were in the woman’s drink, or what kind of injuries she suffered.
Suber’s lawsuit alleges that Wendy’s employees were negligent “in allowing foreign objects to fall into food, drink and other drinks
supplies. “
The woman suffered “a lot of physical pain” and “mental anguish” that made her spend money on medical services and lose money on wages, the suit says.
Suber believes she has a “right” to receive $74,000 for actual damage, but does not plan to pursue more than that, the suit said.
Columbia Lawyers Paige B. George and Barry B. George are representing Suber in the process.
