Colts WR TY Hilton signs $ 10 million one-year deal to stay in Indy

TY Hilton’s team, the only one he is known for in his NFL career, has the league’s second largest capitalization space.

After waiting for the free market, they are spending part of that space to keep Hilton in the city. Hilton is returning to Indianapolis Colts on a $ 10 million one-year contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday, according to Hilton’s agents, Katz Bros.

Hilton’s departure seemed possible, but not inevitable, largely because the Colts were working with an excess of space limits never seen by most teams in the current financial landscape. With the quarterback already answered by Carson Wentz’s trade, the Colts still had some other areas to deal with, with the receiver among the highest priorities.

Hilton made it clear that he would like to continue his career at Colts, and after a peculiar free agent market has unfolded as a receiver, he was there to be conquered – even though technically he never left. Hilton’s resurgence in 2020 proved that this is not just an honorary subscription to a fan favorite. After battling injuries over the past few seasons, Hilton was available to everyone except one game, taking 56 passes for 762 yards and five touchdowns, helping the Colts to finish 11-5.

The Colts will take the place of initial recipient with a player they know intimately, who has been one of the main faces of the franchise’s successes over the past decade and who will likely end up in the franchise’s ring of honor. After five seasons of more than 1,000 yards, four Pro Bowl selections and four playoff wins, Hilton won that award. And he will come back for more with the same uniform he has worn throughout his career.
