Colts DeForest Buckner, George Odum nominated for the PFF All-Pro 2020 team; Jonathan Taylor for the All-Rookie Team

Focus on professional football named both Indianapolis Colts defensive attack DeForest Buckner and special tea George Odum to your PFF 2020 NFL All-Pro teamwhile running back Jonathan Taylor won a spot on the All-Rookie team at the popular advanced level site this season, respectively:

DI AARON DONALD, LOS ANGELES RAMS

Second team: DeForest Buckner, Indianapolis Colts

ST GEORGE ODUM, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Second team: Cody Davis, New England Patriots

Colts special team ace George Odum has been the best special teamer throughout the season, playing extensive snaps in five different stages of the special team game. Odum scored 13 solo tackles and an assist without taking a penalty.

RB JONATHAN TAYLOR, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

There were a number of rookie running backs that had strong first seasons – making this position difficult to define for just one player – but the way Taylor ended the regular season in Indianapolis was what earned the team’s honors.

From week 11 to the end of the regular season, Taylor’s 91.2 race note came in second in the league for Derrick Henry. His 33 lost tackles forced to the ground were second only to Henry and Nick Chubb in the same stretch. It wasn’t always too early, but Taylor started to find his balance in this racing game as the season progressed.

Taylor’s reception ability – something that was not considered a strong point coming from Wisconsin – was also a pleasant surprise. He led all the PFF novice running backs receiving a score (73.3), and dropped only one of his 38 goals for the year. Continuing to develop that part of your game will be great in 2021.

Regarding Buckner, the reigning All-Pro was an absolute inner force for the Colts, and he was worth every dollar and the first round of Indianapolis pick to spend it in the off-season – if not much more.

Buckner finished with 58 tackles (37 solo), 10 tackles for defeat, 9.5 sacks, 53 total QB pressures, 16 QB hits, 3 saved passes, 2 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a safety during 15 games (14 starts) ) in 2020.

By PFF, Buckner obtained an overall score of +89.7 (4th best among the internal defenders) – which included a rushing pass score of +90.2.

His 9.5 sacks were the majority for a defensive tackle during a single season in the history of the Colts franchise – and he is already the best player to tie them in that position of all time in Indianapolis. No doubt.

Buckner was shockingly (and foolishly) despised by the Pro Bowl, but he should receive strong consideration for the AP All-Pro honors during 2020 – in addition to this PFF All-Pro nomination.

Being only behind a super freak Aaron Donald it’s not a bad thing here, as Buckner is still a defensive monster for the Colts.

Meanwhile, another disdain for the Pro Bowl was the highlight of Colts’ safety and special teams George Odum, who led the NFL in special team tackles (20) –when no one else had more than 16 of those tackles. For what it’s worth, the PFF gave Odum a score of 91.2 special teams in 2020.

It is a pity that Pro Bowl voters opted only for name recognition and voted for the New England Patriots 9x Pro Bowl special championship Matthew Slater again because no disrespect for Slater, but Odum was the most deserving player this year.

Finally, there is the newcomer Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who ended the season with the NFL’s third-most yardage at 1,169 – which also led all newcomers during 2020. Taylor averaged 5.0 years. totaling 232 loads of a workhorse and also had 11 touchdowns.

He also fared much better as a pass catcher and blocker than originally anticipated.

Beyond the Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry, no NFL running back was hotter from Week 11 onwards than Taylor– who consistently exhibited his dynamic combination of speed, power and vision that made him one of the most talented brokers in NCAA history from Wisconsin and a great candidate for running back.

He ran fast and furiously for most of the second half of the season and recently took the Colts to the playoffs at the end of the season –in what was an absolutely monstrous career game.

During 2020, Taylor received an offensive note of +83.9 from the PFF, which was the 7th best among all running backs in the league.

All three Colts deserved this individual recognition. However, call me ‘ole fashion’, but I’m still a little surprised to see no perennial All-Pros Quenton Nelson and Darius Leonard in such an ‘All-Pro Team’ PFF.

But maybe next year.
