DENVER – Colorado’s unemployment benefit system has been updated. The new MyUI + benefit system is now available, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment tweeted on Sunday.
The system crashed on Tuesday as the state made updates to its software programs, changes that were originally planned for last spring.
The state expects the update to streamline many of the unemployment insurance processes, including the current system of claimants, the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance system (PUA), the telephone line for requesting payment (CUBline) and the virtual assistant.
People who receive unemployment insurance and use the new system, called MyUI +, will have to request payment weekly. With the previous system, regular unemployment beneficiaries had to request payment every two weeks, while PUA beneficiaries had to request payment every week.
People who used the previous MyUI system will use the same email to log in, but will have to create a new password if they are regularly unemployed, while PUA recipients will use the same email and password. New users will have to create a new account, the CDLE said on its new MyUI + page.
The updates will also accelerate the process of implementing new changes in unemployment insurance, including the recently approved extensions to some federal unemployment insurance programs and others that are likely to happen in the future, officials said.
If you need help setting up your account on the new MyUI + system, requesting weekly benefits or for help with a program integrity issue with your order, call the CDLE at 303-536-5615.
The CDLE said the department was adding personnel to the third-party call center to handle the flow of calls this weekend.
