Colorado Resort Passes 200 “of Snow After 60cm Dump Over Weekend

Despite the slow start of the winter season, some Colorado resorts have benefited greatly from the recent snowfall. The Wolf Creek Ski Area, in southwest Colorado, had 60 centimeters of snow over the weekend (with Friday included, 33 inches) and 45 inches in the last week, exceeding the 200-inch mark for the season.

According to the Wolf Creek website, the ski area received 210 inches of snow this season. That’s 17.5 feet! The current depth of snow at the summit of the ski area is also quite high, at 100 inches. Once again, Wolf Creek has lived up to its reputation as one of Colorado’s snowiest places.

Despite recent storms that hit Colorado, the snowstorm across the state remains quite low – 72% of the median on January 21. It is important to note that this data still needs to be updated to include last weekend’s storm. While last weekend’s storm is likely to increase the accumulated snow in some areas, other parts of the state have been completely lost by the storm.

Fortunately, more snow is on its way to Colorado in the next few days, as well as another possible storm next weekend. See more details here.
