Colorado Police Announce 5 Boulder Riot Arrests, Says More to Come

Police in Boulder, Colorado, made five arrests in connection with the riot that broke out at an undisciplined street party near the University of Colorado earlier this month, officials said on Monday.

The rioting party took place on March 6 at University Hill and resulted in three SWAT officers being attacked by bricks and stones, as well as significant property damage, police said.

The five prisoners are Boland Dodge, 21; Brandon and Eric Hoover, 24; Garret Doyle, 22; and Parker Clemons, 21, said the Boulder Police Department.

All five were charged with a misdemeanor charge for involvement in a riot and violation of public health order.

Dodge was also accused of obstructing government operations. The Hoovers also faced accusations of disobedience to public safety orders in conditions of turmoil, obstruction of a highway and a charge of disorderly conduct for petty misdemeanor.

Doyle was also charged with one count of threatening crime and another of attempting second-degree criminal assault against a peace officer.

Clemons faced an additional criminal misdemeanor charge.

The police made their first arrest on March 10, accusing Henry M. Chardack, 20, of first-degree criminal encroachment, criminal misdemeanor and misdemeanor involved in a riot.

In addition to city and county criminal charges, the University of Colorado Boulder said all students found involved in the riot could face disciplinary action, including permanent expulsion. It was not clear whether any of the prisoners attended school.

Property damaged during the riot included a fire truck and an armored police vehicle. Vehicles belonging to residents were also attacked and damaged, police said, including one that the crowd flipped.

In their search for those involved in the violence and destruction, the police have released several videos in the hope that the public can help identify the people who participated.

Police released two new videos on Monday, showing a different angle of several people hanging from the back of a moving fire truck and shooting fireworks and a new angle of the crowd turning a car sideways.

Police said the new videos show more suspects than officials are trying to identify.
