The Wolverines are 8-0 overall, 3-0 in the league after Thursday’s double-digit victory over one of the Big Ten champions. They now defeated the Maryland team that beat Wisconsin. They beat the UCF team that beat the state of Florida. They beat the Penn State team that defeated the Virginia Tech team that defeated Villanova. So, no, Michigan still doesn’t have that big win that resonates throughout the sport. But Juwan Howard’s team won every game they played, and again, Michigan is the only school besides Gonzaga who is undefeated, with at least four wins over the top 100 KenPom teams.

Thursday night’s star was the guy who starred all season in Michigan – Hunter Dickinson. The 2.13-meter pivot hit 11 shots, hit 10 of them and ended up with 26 points and 11 rebounds against Maryland, which is just three miles from where Dickinson studied at DeMatha Catholic. He averages 16.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, the team’s highest average, at 25.5 minutes per game.
“It was really fun to go back to DMV,” said Dickinson. “It was bringing back a lot of memories, especially because I was so close to DeMatha. I brought back a lot of memories, a lot of good times. It was a lot of fun playing against that Terrapin team and getting the win.”
