Cold front to bring showers today, cold weekend!

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – A cold front will run through the Lowcountry today bringing a series of rains followed by a colder climate for the next weekend. The sunlight will quickly give way to clouds and strong winds as the front approaches this morning. Some showers are possible near I-95 very late this morning. A quick strip of rain will march east through the area between lunchtime and 5 pm. Temperatures will reach 60 degrees before the rain arrives, but will drop to 50 degrees this afternoon. The rain will end quickly this evening and the clouds will start to move. The coldest weather will come over the weekend. We expect a lot of sunshine this weekend, but the highs will have a hard time reaching 50 degrees. Expect a very cold Sunday morning, with inland spots around 20 and coastal locations in the mid 30s.
