CoD: new patch notes from Black Ops Cold War: Express and Firebase Z maps

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarThe first season ended almost two months ago, but Treyarch is spicing things up with an update that adds some new maps to the game. Multiplayer is getting Express, a remake of Black Ops 2 map, while Zombies is getting the new Firebase Z map set in Vietnam.

Express is set in an abandoned train station, where players can fight in luggage areas, train tunnels and on the tracks themselves. The map is not very large, which helps to keep the matches quick and the shootings frequent. To ensure that players have a chance to check out the redone map, Treyarch is adding an Express 24/7 playlist for Black Ops Cold War, which will feature only Express with a different game mode each game.

The other great addition to this patch is Firebase Z, the new zombie map. The map is set in the jungles of Vietnam, on a secret research base from the Cold War era. Of course, things went wrong somewhere along the way, freeing Dark Aether and the hordes of undead at the base. In addition to new weapons, new enemies and the long list of secrets and Easter eggs that the map is likely to have, there is also a new advantage called Tombstone, which gives players the chance to come back to life after being knocked down.

Finally, Treyarch also announced that League Play is coming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold February 8 war. The league game is Call of Duty’s multiplayer rating mode and will allow players to face each other in more competitive matches to earn ratings and show off their skills. League Play games feature more specific combinations, ensuring that you are placed with players close to your ranking and allowing players to progress or regress your ranking with each win or loss.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarThe latest patch will be released on February 4 at 2am ET. To take a look at everything that is changing with this patch, you can check out the full patch notes.
