CoD: Beast R1 from Black Ops Cold War has a real release date this time

After an unintended launch last week, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and War zonein The Shadowhunter R1 crossbow will be officially launched on March 24, Treyarch announced on Monday.

Treyarch is offering players two different ways to unlock Shadow Hunter R1 once the weapon is in play. The first method involves completing a challenge using a weapon without accessories to obtain three “One Shot, One Kill” medals in 15 different matches. If players want to unlock R1 through this challenge, they will first need to unlock the challenge itself, but Treyarch has yet to reveal how it works. The other method, much faster, is to simply buy the “Archaic Range” package from the game store.

The Archaic Range Bundle includes the design of the “Lancehead” weapon, which dresses the Shadowhunter with some special accessories, the animated emblem “Medieval Archer”, the “Olde Time Sniper” sticker and the “Stolen Idol” charm.

The R1 is one of the new weapons for Black Ops Cold War and War zone season 2. Treyarch accidentally launched the crossbow early last week and pulled the gun out a few hours later. Fortunately, anyone who bought the weapon at the game store had their money returned, but according to Treyarch, players who progressed through the unlock challenge had their progress restarted.
