Coca launches the first new bottle size in a decade and is made from recycled plastics

Coca-Cola is reducing its bottle.

The beverage giant is launching 13.2-ounce soda bottles, an easier-to-drink alternative to its 16.9-ounce six-pack bottles, marking the first time the brand has changed its packaging size in a decade. The bottles are also made with 100% recycled plastic material.

Coca's new 13.2-ounce bottles will be launched under several brands, including Coca, Diet Coke and Coke Zero, among others.

Sustainable packaging represents a 20% reduction in the use of Coca-Cola plastic in its North American portfolio compared to 2018. The company says it will reduce 10,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually in the US as result, or the equivalent of taking 2,120 cars off the road for a year.
