Cobra Kai Star hopes to return in the final season of The Walking Dead

Cobra Kai star Okea Eme-Akwari, who plays Shawn on karate Kid following the series on Netflix, he hopes his masked fighter will return for the eleventh and final season of The walking dead. Eme-Akwari first appears as part of the six new episodes that extend season 10, where Maggie (Lauren Cohan) reunites with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and her group of survivors after their years away. In “Home Sweet Home”, premiering on February 28 at AMC, the mysterious man who accompanies Maggie in October’s “A Certain Doom” unmasks himself as Elijah of Eme-Akwari – part of the new community that Maggie found when she left the Hilltop after an intense confrontation with prisoner Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

“They are doing a mini-season extension, a six-episode season extension to mark the end of season 10 before the start of season 11. So, that was one of the biggest blessings of all this mess that was 2020,” Eme -Akwari told the Snake Kai Kompanion. “What if [The Walking Dead] it wasn’t delayed, so they didn’t do those episodes, so I probably didn’t get the audition. Or who knows, maybe they could, but I am very grateful for that experience too. “

After the coronavirus pandemic delayed the original Living Dead end of season 10 in six months and footage postponed to season 11, showrunner Angela Kang announced that a six-episode extension would be the bridge of what would become the final season of The walking dead.

“We have to shoot [the extended season 10] last fall and they’re getting ready for season 11 now, so I hope I’ll be a part of that too and continue from there, “said Eme-Akwari. It is definitely a cool experience to be part of two really different fandoms that both have their individual energies. In the same way that I’m getting Cobra Kai messages, I am receiving many Living Dead people too. And it’s crazy because they are both worldwide programs now, especially Living Dead been around for a decade. “

Elijah de Eme-Akwari is part of the “big story” that is yet to come for Maggie in season 10C. The mini-season takes place after the War of Whispers, which would have counted Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) as a casualty had it not been for the defense of Maggie and Elijah at the last minute in “A Certain Doom”.

“She saw some dark things on the road and obviously, like when she gets in, she’s with this man as a metal mask, and who is this guy, what adventures have they been on? That’s all part of the story forward, and will conduct one of the main missions that we’ll start to see happen, ”said Kang of Maggie’s return in October. “This will lead us to meet some other interesting characters who will cross over some of the other great stories in our series going forward.”
