CNN anchor Chris Cuomo’s reference on Thursday to a little-known former Texas mayor sparked a wave of criticism over the plight of his much more prominent older brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, D.
Cuomo tweeted about former Mayor Tim Boyd of Colorado City, Texas, who attracted a lot of attention this week for scolding “lazy” citizens for not turning to local government help during the snowstorm that left large areas of the state without power.
“Resign or apologize and learn and become a better leader?” Cuomo tweeted.

Cuomo was quickly reminded of a scandal very close to home, while old Cuomo faces investigations of his suspected cover-up of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes. He was also accused of threatening a Democratic legislator for not doing more to contain the political consequences.
Not that Chris Cuomo could tweet about his brother at the moment, anyway. CNN announced this week that it reinstated its presenter ban at 9 pm, covering or interviewing its older brother.

The left-wing network gave last year’s developments little time to air, despite its reversal in its nursing home policy, instead allowing young Cuomo to conduct friendly interviews that included family jokes and even comedy. . The media in general became enthusiastic about Cuomo throughout 2020; Brian Stelter of CNN told viewers that he would pass on his advice on how to endure the difficulties for his own children.
There seemed to be some confusion in the media about whether Boyd resigned his comments. After criticism spilled over his caustic post, Boyd wrote a sequence saying he kept his first letter, but added that he would choose his words better.

He also said that he had already submitted his resignation and was speaking as a citizen, but it was not clear when he resigned. The Dallas Morning News reported that he was scheduled to lead a meeting in the city recently, on February 9.
