CNN stops asking about the Cuomo nursing home scandal, the TJ Ducklo fiasco in Biden Wisconsin

CNN did not exactly challenge President Biden during Tuesday night at the town hall in Milwaukee, avoiding uncomfortable matters for the government or other Democrats.

While much of the program focused on Biden’s treatment of the coronavirus pandemic going forward, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper questioned the president about whether he agreed with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, that Republicans of the Senates voted to absolve former President Trump in his impeachment trial were “cowards” and whether he would allow his Department of Justice to investigate his predecessor.

Meanwhile, the scandal surrounding New York Governor Andrew Cuomo about his government’s retention of data on deaths in nursing homes during the first months of the pandemic was not mentioned.

Cuomo, who Biden praised repeatedly during the 2020 election cycle, is facing a bipartisan reaction after one of his top aides revealed that he had hidden data from state lawmakers for fear that damnable numbers would be used against them.

Also ignored during the televised event was the dramatic resignation of White House deputy press secretary TJ Ducklo, who was forced to resign on Sunday after it was revealed that he reprimanded a sexist-speaking Politico reporter and threatened to “destroy her” for chasing a story about his burgeoning relationship with Axios reporter Alexi McCammond.

Biden was criticized during the fiasco, with criticism pointed to comments he made last month alerting government nominees: “I’m not kidding when I say this: if you work with me and I hear you treat someone else with disrespect, talking quietly to someone , I will fire you on the spot. On the spot. No ifs, ands or buts. ”

Ducklo initially received just one week of unpaid suspension after the story was released, which was three weeks after the White House communications team was informed of his conduct.

Cooper, however, took the last few minutes of City Hall to ask Biden “what it is like” to live in the White House. “

“Was it different from what you expected in some way?” he asked at one point.

CNN was heavily criticized during the 2020 campaign by its “softball” city halls featuring the Democrat.
