Now, this is creative … a handful of Clubhouse users have put on a live production of ‘The Lion King’ – complete with a full cast and chorus – and THOUSANDS of people have turned up to listen live.
Organized by executive producer and director Noelle Chesnut Whitmore – along with the assistance of a complete team, including voice actors / singers and others – the performance is a two-show event that started on Saturday … which involved a matinee at 12 PM PM PT, and a later show in 5 pm PT. It seems to be free … but you need the Clubhouse to pick it up.

It is said that the auditions were held organically at the Clubhouse itself … and a ton of super talented people prepared for a live reading of the animated Disney classic, including those famous numbers that we all know and love. And it looks like it looks pretty decent too!

One of these actors, Lee-Lon (one of the guys who play Simba for the Clubhouse), posted a video of him rehearsing for ‘I can’t wait to be king’ – and it’s obvious that these people are taking it very seriously. .. comes out almost like a movie. So, yes, they are professionals here at work.
The afternoon show is over, but as we said … there is an encore arriving in less than an hour. At one of its peaks, there were reports of more than 5,000 Clubhouse users listening live (on the mute, of course) … including tons of children and families.

The problem – if you have not yet signed up for the Clubhouse (which appears to be still in the beta stages of development), you may have to wait until the next time … because the management team has to approve you and your username before to be able to climb, and it takes a while.
The good news … some people are capturing parts of the performance and posting (which is technically against their rules) – so we can all at least get a taste of the present at stake. Not only that, but there is talk of other famous productions that can receive Clubhouse treatment – like ‘A Raisin in the Sun’, for example, so more programs are on the horizon, it seems.
It might be worth signing up – the Clubhouse is in vogue today, and many celebrities are constantly showing up and talking to people on a variety of topics. Celebrities like Kevin Hart, Damon Dash, Joe Budden, Tyrese, Bow Wow and countless others have accounts and made appearances … with complete strangers accompanying the tour.

One last thing about this version of the ‘Lion King’ … the team made a great effort to put it on, and they are accepting donations from anyone who feels generous. Their handles are up.
