With The Cloverfield Paradox and 10 Cloverfield Lane, the idea of a “Cloverfield” movie have endured long after the release from the 2008 original. But we never found out more about This one history. what monster. And now, This one it may finally be changing.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Joe Barton, the last shownext runner HBO Max Gotham City program, was hired by Bad Robot and Paramount to write a Cloverfield 2. Unlike the first film, it will not be a filming film found, but it will be a direct sequel to this film. The other Cloverfield movies were more “spiritual” sequels, although the elements did so tangentially and potentially, tie them all together.
JJ Abrams, who helped design the first film together with writer Drew Goddard and director Matt Reeves, will be back to produce, but none of the other guys will join him. (Although Reeves is producing the Barton’s Gotham City program, so there is probably some connection there.)
There is also no word on the direction Barton will take, if he will make a riff from the other films, use some of the same characters etc. for fans of the original Cloverfield, it’s certainly exciting to think that we’ll finally hear more about The monster that terrified New Yorkers in 2008.
