Clint Eastwood’s ‘Cry Macho’ Sets Release Date for Fall 2021 – Deadline

Warner Bros will open Cry Male by Clint Eastwood on October 22. The winner of several Oscars will star and direct the feature based on the novel by N. Richard Nash.

The photo will hit theaters and HBO Max on a day-to-day basis, as this is Warner Bros. plan for 2021.

Eastwood stars as a rodeo star and horse breeder who, in 1978, found a former boss to take the man’s son home and away from his alcoholic mother. Crossing rural Mexico on their way back to Texas, the unlikely pair faces an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the weary world rider can find his own sense of redemption by teaching the boy what it means to be a good man.

Nick Schenk and Nash co-wrote the script. Eastwood, Albert S. Ruddy, Tim Moore and Jessica Meier are the producers. Eastwood stars with Eduardo Minett and Dwight Yoakam.

Cry Male opens the same weekend as Paramount Snake-eyes and focus features’ Last night in Soho.
