Cleveland describes free parking spaces, parking restrictions around the Wolstein Center’s massive coronavirus vaccination clinic

CLEVELAND, Ohio – If you are getting a COVID-19 vaccine at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center, you can park for free in a nearby parking lot, the city of Cleveland confirmed on Saturday.

The city released a map of five car parks near the Wolstein Center that will be free for those who get vaccinated. The map also describes where street parking will be banned while the mass vaccination site is in operation.

Four of the parking lots are just south of the Wolstein Center, while the fifth is just east, on the opposite side of East 21st Street. The lots are close to Gate B, where the general public will enter the arena.

You can get a more detailed look at the locations of the lots at the top of this post.

In addition, parking restrictions on the streets around the Wolstein Center will apply from 6 am to 10 pm “every day the clinic is open,” says a press release from the city of Cleveland. Here’s where you can’t park on either side of the street, starting on Wednesday:

  • East 18th Street, between Carnegie and Euclid avenues
  • East 19th Street, between Carnegie Avenue and the extension of Central Avenue
  • East 21st Street, between Carnegie and Euclid avenues
  • Carnegie Avenue, between East 18th and East 21st streets
  • Prospect Avenue, between East 18th and East 21st streets
  • Central Avenue, between East 18th and East 19th streets

Restricted parking areas are marked in red on the map at the top of this post.

Cleveland officials, as well as state and federal partners, had previously said that free parking would be available, but the parking list was not completed and released until Saturday night.

The authorities are also encouraging those by appointment to use public transport, such as the RTA, to get to the center. Laketran is also offering free transportation to the Wolstein Center’s mass vaccination clinic from its newly opened Frank J. Polivka Transit Center at Lakeland Community College.
