Cleveland Browns puts LT Jedrick Wills on the reserve list / COVID-19

Cleveland Browns placed the offensive attack Jedrick Wills Jr. on the reserve / COVID-19 list.

Choice number 10 in this year’s Alabama draft started all games as a left tackle for Cleveland this season.

Wills was put on the list after being identified as a close, high-risk contact with someone outside the organization. Wills would be eligible to leave the virus list if the test was negative on five consecutive days, potentially putting him on the right track to still play on Sunday against the New York Jets.

“There is a possibility,” said coach Kevin Stefanski.

Wills’ absence from practice, at least, is the latest blow to a suddenly damaged Browns offensive line. Right-back Wyatt Teller missed Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury and is expected to fail again on Thursday. Cleveland also lost reserve coach Chris Hubbard, who was placed on reserve this week due to a knee injury he suffered when starting at Teller’s place on Sunday. Newcomer Nick Harris replaced Teller and Hubbard on guard.

A source told ESPN that the problem of close contact with Wills had nothing to do with his Winter Blast event earlier this week.

The Browns also placed receiver Ryan Switzer on the training squad / COVID-19 list.
