Cleveland Browns DBs Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson off the COVID list

BEREA, Ohio – Defenders Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson of the Cleveland Browns were both removed from the reserve / COVID-19 list after losing the last two games, including Sunday’s playoff victory over Pittsburgh.

Ward, a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie in 2018, was Cleveland’s main corner this season. Despite losing four games this year, Ward led the NFL during the regular season with 16 saved passes.

A free agent signing this offseason, Johnson was nickelback holder for the Browns.

Cleveland still hopes to remove Pro Bowl guard Joel Bitonio from the reserve / COVID-19 list as well.

Coach Kevin Stefanski, who also tested positive for the virus last week, said he hopes to return to the team in training on Thursday. Offensive line coach Bill Callahan has returned to the COVID list team.

The Browns face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC divisional round on Sunday.
