Cleveland Browns baby son WR Ryan Switzer back in hospital

CLEVELAND – Cleveland Browns wide receiver Ryan Switzer said his baby son had a blood transfusion on Sunday and has more tests ahead of him to try to determine why he is bleeding.

Nine-month-old Christian is back at the hospital for the second time after undergoing surgery last week. On Sunday night, Switzer posted an update saying that Christian’s hemoglobin “responded well” to the transfusion.

“Unfortunately, none of the tests performed today gave us a diagnosis of his bleeding,” said Switzer on Twitter. “He has a set procedure for 7 am tomorrow to explore from the inside. This is too much for our little man. Pray for supernatural strength for him.”

The 26-year-old father posted a video on March 10 thanking the public for his overwhelming support for Christian.

On Saturday, Switzer said Christian had “most significant bleeding” and was back in the hospital.

“We are frustrated, but even more exhausted from seeing our son suffer,” wrote Switzer. “We are asking for prayers for doctors as they work to find a diagnosis and strength for Christian as he struggles.”

Switzer spent the last season on the Cleveland training team. He has been with the Pittsburgh Steelers for two seasons after being selected by Dallas in the 2017 North Carolina NFL draft.
