Claude Giroux, Justin Braun placed on the list of COVID protocol

Philadelphia Flyers striker Claude Giroux and defender Justin Braun were added to the NHL’s COVID protocol list, joining teammate Travis Sanheim.

The announcement came hours after the official word that the game scheduled for Tuesday night against Washington Capitals was postponed to a later date due to a positive case reported within Flyers, and more players joining the league’s growing list. . With a much clearer picture now, Braun and Giroux are two names on the protocol list that had more than 100 in just over a month of hockey being played.

Whether the trio that represents Philadelphia is in fact positive with COVID-19, it is not known, but Darren Dreger from TSN mentioned that there was “an additional positive test last night”, leaving the entire fan base just sadistically guessing which player has the plague.

The Flyers are now just one of several teams that have had their season wiped out because of the NHL trying to continue through this global pandemic. The Minnesota Wild and the New Jersey Devils are trying to set records for how many players fit on the NHL’s COVID protocol list, as the former is essentially building a complete squad, trying to reach the Devils, who at one point had 17 players on the list.

As for when the Flyers will return to action, I don’t expect any news soon – but it’s just me. The next scheduled game is against the New York Rangers on February 14, a full week since they were last on the ice, but with more players testing positive and taking risks, in Philadelphia and in three American divisions, we’ll see what the league does decides to do in the next few days.
